A cry in the dark
A scream in the night
A little boy shakes and trembles with fright

Alone in his room
The walls closing in
Afraid the monsters and demons will win

For in a world
Of evil and good
The battle between them is misunderstood

The angels are fighting
The demons wage war
Far closer to the end than before

Will purity win?
Or will darkness prevail?
Will they always be an intertwined tale?

The little boy's waiting
For a sound or sign
The living room clock chiming half past nine

The clock silences
The household is still
Will the demons now move in for their kill?

The angels are strong
But can they hold out?
The little boy can't help but have his doubts

He's waiting still
His bottom lip quivers
He can't stop the way that his body shivers

Darkness will rise
As will the light
Forever a battle between wrong and right

Nothing dare stirs
And all seems well
As for the future? No one can tell
